Service Engineer - Discovery Systems

As a Field Service Engineer, you are the first in line when it comes to representing the service organization from Kongsberg Discovery to our local customers. To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our Customer Supports’ Service Delivery team in Spijkenisse, The Netherlands.

Working as a Field Service Engineer you will carry out installation, test, and commissioning activities of Kongsberg Discovery equipment on our customers’ vessels, at shipyards and in office. You will perform services and maintenance on sailing ships with our equipment, as well as in-house technical support to our customers. If you have technical qualifications in hydrographic or any other relevant systems or you have gathered equivalent work experience, then you have the competence we need. Kongsberg Maritime Netherlands BV is a subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime AS with an office with 76 employees based in Spijkenisse. We are working in Sales, Aftermarket Sales and Customer Support and cover the Kongsberg Maritime, Kongsberg Digital and Kongsberg Discovery product range.

Key accountabilities:

• Installation, testing and commissioning of e.g. Subsea, Hydrographic and Seatex products (office and shipyard / The Netherlands / Belgium)
• Technical on-call service and assistance locally
• Technical assistance to delivery projects and sales/after sales
• Training for customers
• Supervision and on-board operational assistance
• Documentation and reporting

Qualifications and experience:

• A degree e.g., Electro/Hydrography/Subsea systems. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education
• Interested in education of hydrographic software and products
• General good knowledge of computer & network systems / data communication
• Proficient written and oral skills in Dutch and English
