Technical Support Engineer

Our Deck Machinery and Motion Control division owns, develops, and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s winches and handling solutions.

A technical support engineer position is now open, in this role, you will use your knowledge on our deck handling equipment and operations to contribute to support the handling systems on sailing fleet. Our team is responsible for supporting our vast range of handling equipment within the segment’s anchor handling, tug supply, fisheries, and E&P.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Technical support for vessels operating within our deck machinery portfolio.
  • Support service engineers with technical advice during service and commissioning.
  • Participate and contribute to technical brief and debrief on commissioning and service jobs.
  • Spares identification and support.
  • Advise on, control, and facilitate product documentation.
  • Support our sales organisation with technical solutions for customers.
  • On the longer view, participate in: Out-of-office-hours support team 1-week duty.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience from relevant industry is beneficial. Marine and maritime industries are of relevance, as well as other industries creating complex technical solutions consisting of mechanical, electronics/HW, and software development.
  • Knowledge of deck handling equipment and maritime operations.
  • Strong and relevant technical knowledge within electrical systems.
  • Practical experience from service is an advantage.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Norwegian.
  • This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check.
