Technical Advisor (Travelling) - Automation

We are looking for a travelling Technical Advisor to support our Automation products.

In this role, you will be a part of the Service Delivery Team, delivering service, support,

upgrades and modifications to our customers.  Our Technical Advisors are along with Field Service Engineers at the front line when representing KONGSBERG to our worldwide customers. You will be part of our Global Customer Support division which is responsible for Kongsberg Maritimes services, upgrades and support in the aftermarket. Our 2300 employees are present in 35 different countries around the world. During the operational lifetime on more than 30.000 installations, we ensure cost-efficient delivery of services, upgrades and spare parts in order to secure availability and predictability to our customers. 

Automation & Sensing Solution is a part of Global Customer Support. The department also consist of the product departments for Bridge & Control and Digital & Training.  The main product in this department is providing vessels with state-of-the-art automation and digital systems build on the new, modern K-Chief platform. We provide service and support for systems like Acon, tank sounding and LNG systems, and is a forerunner in providing ships with tools for optimizing their operations with regards to cost, efficiency and emissions.

Key accountabilities

  • In office prepare for service projects and update documentation as needed
  • In field provide service, troubleshooting and upgrades of existing equipment
  • Collaboration and support of customers and internal resources
  • On-site coordination of work within own field
  • Participating in the development of work processes
  • Following the company’s QA and HSE regulations
  • Participation in in-house projects

Qualifications and experience

  • Motivated for solving technical issues and provide customers with the best experience with the KM products
  • Skills within electrical, automation or IT disciplines, e.g. from certificate of apprenticeship, college or University bachelor’s degree or other relevant education.
  • Experience from working with electro, IT or automation can be an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Motivated to gain a deep knowledge of KM’s range of marine products, systems and applications
  • Fluent Norwegian and English language required
