Senior Sales Manager - Underwater Mapping

Kongsberg Discovery is seeking a Senior Sales Manager for Europe and Africa (during the course of the employment, areas of responsibility may be subject to change).

In this position, you will be part of Kongsberg Discovery Underwater Mapping Sales, which is an international sales team that has the sales- and budget responsibility for a significant range of world leading hydroacoustic systems from Kongsberg Discovery. The main task will be sales responsibility for the following systems: Multi- and Singlebeam Echo Sounders, Sub-Bottom Profilers, Positioning (GNSS) & Motion Reference Unit sensor systems and software solutions for the different systems and applications.

We are searching someone with good understanding of the different applications where these systems are being used, strong knowledge about the different industry standards related to seabed mapping and the customer base in the area.

Key accountabilities

  • Sales and budget responsibility in a defined sales area for a range of products and systems.
  • Create and maintain customer relations.
  • Preparation of quotations and manage contract negotiations.
  • Developing and executing strategic sales plans .
  • Participate in and lead bid teams to compile technical and commercial responses to tenders.
  • Conduct presentations at conferences and trade shows.
  • Actively plan and lead the execution of product- and system demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

  • Higher technical education, preferably at Bachelor level in a relevant technical discipline or relevant Naval background.
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ experience with technical sales for an international company.
  • Good understanding of survey applications and different applications where acoustic seabed mapping systems are being used. Application knowledge of Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) is preferable.
  • Proficient in English, both written and oral.
  • Able to travel on a regular basis
