Field Service Engineer

Then we got an exciting opportunity for you as a Field Service Engineer in Kongsberg Maritime.


Working as a Field Service Engineer you will do installation and commissioning of Kongsberg’s Power systems on vessels and in major shipyards around the world. You will be part of the Energy Support department and will perform services and maintenance on sailing ships with our equipment, as well as in-house technical support to our customers.


Key accountabilities

  • Commissioning of new build, after sales and upgrade projects
  • Service on Kongsberg Maritime Products, low voltage and high voltage switchboards, Drives and Battery solutions
  • Engineering and test (IAT, FAT and CAT)
  • Technical support and assistance world wide
  • In-House technical support towards internal and external customers
  • Ready and motivated for world-wide support activities and travel


Qualifications and experience

  • Electricians certificate of apprenticeship group L (Low voltage) or H (High Voltage) is a requirement
  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or other relevant technical education is an advantage
  • Experience with automation system, drives and protection relay test equipment is an advantage
  • Field experience with maritime electrical systems
  • Meet the health requirements that apply for offshore work
  • Meet the requirements for applying for work visa world-wide
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English both oral and written
