Test Development Engineer - Acoustics

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Test Development Engineer - Acoustics in our central Manufacturing Technology department. In this role, you will develop hydroacoustic test systems and other automated manufacturing tests for underwater acoustic sensors. You will work with world leading products, in product development and improvement projects, and collaborate with product designers and manufacturing. We develop test systems for our internal manufacturing in Horten and Villajoyosa (Spain). Our automated test systems for underwater acoustic sensors are key for efficient and high-quality manufacturing.

Kongsberg is growing in Horten and is moving into a new building, which will become an exciting center for advanced manufacturing in Norway.

Key accountabilities

• Develop automated hydroacoustic test systems and other manufacturing tests
• Develop software for test systems: Interface products, test instruments and control systems, data acquisition, storage and post processing.
• Test data management and analysis
• Implement and verify test systems in manufacturing departments
• Take part in product development projects with focus on ‘Design for Test’ and new functionalities
• Support manufacturing and technology departments
  
  

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or equivalent experience within relevant technical area (software, electronics, cybernetics, physics, acoustics).
• Experience within software programming:
• Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW and C# would be preferable
• Software management tools such as Azure DevOps and Git
• Experience within databases and database administration
• Knowledge of test systems, measuring techniques, electronics and automation
