IP Manager / IP Advisor

We are looking for an IP Manager/IP Advisor to strengthen our in-house IP-team in the Technology Office of Kongsberg Maritime in Norway reporting to Director of Research and Innovation.

As our IP Manager/IP Advisor, you will support and influence strategic focus areas across Kongsberg Maritime and product portfolios. From engaging with patent authorities to conducting Freedom to Operate Analysis, your expertise will be central to securing and managing our intellectual property assets. Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain IP/IPR strategy and best practices for Kongsberg Maritime’s strategic focus areas and products.
  • Act as Point of Contact with patent authorities and external patent offices.
    • Ip-management such as secure and manage IPR, perform Freedom to Operate Analysis and handle patent Oppositions and other invalidation actions.
    • Support enforcement actions and infringement accusations.
  • Manage patent landscaping, patent monitoring & technology watch initiatives.
  • Contribute to raise IP/IPR awareness and organize internal IP/IPR-training for employees.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master of Science within mechanical, electrical engineering, maritime technology, computer science, physics or other relevant fields.
  • Qualification as European Patent Attorney or comparable qualification/experience. Candidates started with EQE-exams will be considered.
  • Three years of experience in managing the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and the conduction of patentability and freedom-to-operate searches.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
