Field Service Engineer

An incredible opportunity awaits you as Field Service Engineer, reporting into the service operations team. In this role you will provide service, maintain, repair, troubleshoot and upgrade existing Kongsberg Maritime propulsion products in the field and in our Service Workshop in Ulsteinvik. In addition, you will support commissioning of new project deliveries and technical support and assistance of our customers and colleagues. Maintaining daily communication on site with Client, where applicable, and customers directly to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction. You will also collaborate with members of the Service team, share knowledge and coach them.

In this role global travelling is required but the role also involves mechanical work in our facilities in Ulsteinvik.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and service on designated equipment.
• Assemble propulsion machinery and equipment.
• Replace parts on propulsion units.
• Documentation of conducted work.
• Communication with internal and external customers.
• Planning of assigned work in collaboration within the organization.
• You are able to travel as required.
  
  

Qualifications and experience

• Technical college/ University diploma covering mechanical equipment or related engineering degree, related to the relevant discipline.
• Experience from relevant maritime activities/work is preferred and may compensate for formal education.
• Knowledge about hydraulic and electrical control systems for machinery is an advantage.
• Experience with customer service is a great advantage.
• Good verbal and written skills in English and Norwegian.
• Good skill using pc with windows in general.
