Bid Manager – Integration & Energy GCS

Join our team as a Bid Manager within Kongsberg Maritime’s Integration & Energy - Global Customer Support division.

 As a Bid Manager - Integration & Energy GCS, you will be responsible for leading the technical tendering package for Kongsberg Maritimes largest projects for upgrades and conversions of sailing vessels as well as projects involving new product development. You will coordinate the relevant packages for each project to ensure the scope of supply matches our customers’ requirements and that the project resources, costs, and timelines are clear at the point of tender submission. Through excellent collaboration with your new colleagues in Kongsberg Maritime you will help to shape the future of our customers decarbonisation journeys and help deliver projects that enable their long-term profitable operations.

Key accountabilities

  • Analyse tenders and appoint bid teams using relevant internal resources from Sales, Engineering, Project Management and Procurement
  • Manage bid teams to develop project delivery schedules, Engineering responsibility matrices and system technical specifications
  • Review solution compliance with customers specifications and involve required competence areas for deviations and alternative solutions
  • Develop project cost calculations using input from internal stakeholders and procurement
  • Compile Integrated System quotations for the Sales team and support bid review meetings with Senior Management.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of the Bid Management process capturing lessons learned and quantifying and managing risks

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or relevant work experience
  • Relevant technical experience, preferably from the maritime industry in Project Management, Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • On-site experience from retrofit, refit and conversions at maintenance and repair yards would be beneficial
  • Good communications skills in both written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of Kongsberg Maritime’s products and services
  • Understanding of commercial terms and conditions
