Senior Project Engineer / Discipline Lead - Structural Design

Our Integration & Energy division owns, develops, and delivers world class integration, with focus on providing sustainable and efficient integrated solutions with customer value beyond the aggregated value of products and systems. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for Energy solutions, Ship Design, Green Fuels and Remote & Autonomous solutions. Integration & Energy is established to support Kongsberg Maritime’s customers in navigating the energy transition, using our knowledge of marine operations and technological expertise to take a leading role as our customers’ key partner in reliable, sustainable, and safe vessel operations.

This exciting opportunity as Senior Project Engineer / Displine Lead – Structural Design reports to Department Manager – Structural Design. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the Structural department's role and part in Ship Design projects. Being responsible for managing and planning the deliveries, necessary document requirements towards customers, internal suppliers, relevant approvals from Classification Society and authorities and necessary resources. The Discipline Leader will form part of a project team and be responsible for coordinating across disciplines in the project execution.
 

Key accountabilities

  • Project coordination / execution for the structural design discipline.
  • Coordinate discipline team members during project execution, adhering to the delivery times and budget.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines, teams and internal / external suppliers.
  • Manage deliveries and approvals of structural design documentation.
  • Contribute in vessels arrangements and functional design.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of delivery quality, and assist in R&D programes and sales support.
  • Contribute to our team; socially and professionally.

Qualifications and experience

  • Technical education, from college or university within ship design or Marine Technology.
  • Experience within structural design and engineering.
  • Experience with rules and regulations related to ship design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in project coordination is beneficial.
