Product Engineer

We are looking for a Product Engineer to join our Vessel Robotics team in Kongsberg Discovery. In Vessel Robotics we are working with Hull Skating Solutions (HSS), an innovation for proactive cleaning of ship hull. The HullSkater is an advanced robot with sophisticated navigation and underwater technology.The HSS is a partnership between Jotun and Kongsberg Discovery.

In the role as Product Engineer, you will play a crucial part in the scale-up of HSS with your mainly focus on efficiency of installations and technical services. You will also bridge the technical feedback from the market to Product Management and R&D which will help increase efficiency and the stability in HSS. This position will require some travel internationally (approximately 20 to 40 days/year).

Responsibilities

• Expert role on installation and technical service of Hull Skating Solutions
• Application expert on vessel types and Hull Skating Solutions
• Bridge feedback from market and operations to Product Management
• Support other departments with product knowledge
• Support scale up of the organization
• Contribute to efficient installation and technical service
• Continuous improvements in all processes related to HSS

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum Bachelor in Engineering within relevant fields
• Experience from technical customer support is an advantage, but not a requirement
• Experience from product development is an advantage, but not a requirement
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Good verbal and written communication skills in Norwegian is appreciated, but not a requirement
