Dynamic Positioning Technical Instructor (KPM)

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable professional to join our team as a Technical Instructor at Kongsberg Maritime. The role involves delivering high-quality training on Kongsberg’s advanced systems, including dynamic positioning (DP) technologies, Kongsberg bridge systems, control systems, and various maritime solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct courses on K-Pos Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems, including principles, system components, and operations.
- Teach preventive and corrective maintenance for K-Pos DP systems, including hardware like operator stations, process stations, and network communications.
- Provide training on sensors, position reference systems, and thrusters.
- Instruct on serial and network communications, focusing on troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Guide participants through practical exercises in simulators, focusing on DP operations.
- Prepare course materials, including vessel-specific documentation, utilizing relevant software tools for documentation and participant management.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications, Automation and Control Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (with a focus on marine systems)
- Solid understanding of electronics and computer-based control systems.
- Basic knowledge of DP technology, including DP Class 1, 2, and 3.
- Experience with Kongsberg DP control systems and components, including networks, serial communication, and interfaces.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and specialized software for system troubleshooting and maintenance
- Comfortable with preparing and utilizing vessel-specific documentation.
