Team Manager - Training

An incredible opportunity awaits you as Team Manager reporting to Operations Manager – Training. In this role, you will play a part in our high-achieving Customer Training Division, delivering essential development for our business. We take pride in our world-class team of instructors in Kongsberg Maritime Products and integrated systems. Our instructors have a variety of backgrounds, including project engineers, service engineers, Bridge Officers and teachers. We have immediate access to the KM Product & Technology developers, which gives us a unique possibility to acquire up-to-date, thorough system knowledge, for direct benefit of our customers. 

Responsible for the overall management of the Instructor Team and will be responsible for the professional portrayal of the centre and its operations in the business arena both within the UK and wider. You will act as Technical focal point for all courses conducted in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct product courses on occasion.
  • Overall management and development of the Instructor Team.
  • Help develop, prepare, conduct and assess customer training programs encompassing the range. of systems used by KM customers.
  • Manage recruitment of new employees alongside and development of existing staff.
  • Oversee staff training and coaching to increase team skills to achieve personal performance objectives and to encourage cross utilisation of staff.
  • Regular travel to support global training goals.

Qualifications and experience

  • Demonstrable experience in related, relevant industry (Marine Operations) with minimum HND qualification in engineering or electronics
  • Demonstrate personnel management or supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Field service experience desired
  • Quality conscious and service minded
