Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of VP Sales, North America.
As VP Sales you will lead the sales efforts in North America, taking a holistic approach encompassing all vessel segments and all products in the KM portfolio. You will lead a highly motivated sales team who are responsible for customer relations in the region as well as ensuring order intake. You will work closely with our experts in the Nordics to ensure an optimal value generation, suited to local and regional trends. You will be responsible for developing regional sales strategies and implementing them to grow market share, strengthen our product portfolio and continue to position KM as a key industry advisor on major trends, from electrification to technology qualification.
Working effectively across our business is key and you will be interfacing and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders and colleagues.
The role reports to SVP Sales & Marketing and is part of the Sales leadership team in Americas.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop sales strategy, sales plans and pipeline targeting growth for designated team and portfolio including vessel segments of Tug, Merchant, Offshore, Ferries, Cruise and Fishing
- Drive profitable sales growth, deliver order intake with current and new customers within the portfolio
- Build a strong sales team supporting all P&L divisions and vessel segments with focus on product sales, bundling and integrated solutions sales
- Manage sales strategy implementation in home market/region
- Manage and own customer relationships in the region as well as defining and setting up KAM (key account management) responsibilities
- Hold budget responsibility in North America, responsible for driving sales of all KM products in the region
- Optimize the area sales footprint and its efficiency performance
- Implement global strategy, policies, processes and campaign initiatives
- Lead the sales team by developing the sales culture and competence
- Support assessment of sales professionals within sales product competency
- Discuss products with customers in the context of current market conditions, sector strategy and future development
- Provide input on industry needs and technology currently available
- Capture market trend for NPI
- Provide information on risks and opportunities affecting future customer orders
- Use of CRM tools to manage customers, prospects and pipeline
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or equal is desired
- 10+ year experience in the maritime technology space and/or vessel operations is preferred
- Proven sales records and experience in leading and managing people effectively
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and persuasive skills
- The ability to think strategically and to analyze and reach goals
- Highly customer focused and with the ability to translate and convey regional customer input internally
- Affiliations to relevant professional bodies in the industry and will thrive presenting at industry forums
