Field Service Engineer – AC/KC600

As a Field Service Engineer, you are the first in line when it comes to representing Kongsberg to our worldwide customers. To further strengthen our team, we are looking fora Field Service Engineer to join our Global Customer Support (GCS) departments in UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Working as a Field Service Engineer, You will do installation and commissioning of Kongsberg’s AutoChief Propulsion Control Systems, K-Chief Marine Automation Systems and Machinery Instrumentation systems on vessels and in major shipyards around the world. You will perform services and maintenance on sailing ships with our equipment, as well as in-house technical support to our customers. If you have technical qualifications in electro, automation or electronics then you have the competence we seek. Main work tasks

• Installation and commissioning of our AutoChief, K-Chief and Machinery Instrumentation products
• Inhouse engineering and onboard commissioning of our products
• Perform tasks for system maintenance and performance assessments.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
• Support troubleshooting, configuring & repairing the products and other connected units as applicable
• Perform on-call services, system acceptance tests, installation, commissioning, upgrades,, fault analysis and rectification work at customer sites and installations.
• Be able and willing to perform emergency call-out services (including non-office hours) to provide customers with fast and efficient services within UAE and worldwide.
• Execute the requested job in the best way to meet customer’s deadlines and expectations.
• To be able to work closely with Product center for timely updates and for continuous knowledge improvisation.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one or more of the following: Electro, Automation, Electronics or similar
• Field experience from maritime, shipping and/or offshore oil & gas installations is an advantage. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education
• Willingness to travel on short notice
• Fluent in English, both written and orally
• Highly motivated for worldwide travel & support activities
• Meet the health requirements that apply for offshore work
• Ability to work with others in a team.
• Service minded/humble, and know the importance of giving the necessary attention to our customers.
