Senior and Junior Engineer, Energetics  

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace in support of missile design and development. The ideal candidate will apply engineering and physical science principles to specify, integrate, document, and evaluate missile components with energetic properties, and associated equipment for performance, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance. 

Your responsibilities 

Conduct and oversee engineering tasks primarily related to energetic components, ie fuel system, jet engine, fin actuators, warhead, including analysis, design work, testing, postprocessing experimental results and writing reports. 

Collaborate closely with the research & development teams and the manufacturing engineers to optimise performance. Design for robust and cost-effective manufacturing, integration within complex systems. 

Involved in the certification and verification processes for our energetic components, ensuring they meet customer requirements as well as industry and regulatory standards. 

Building further competence in this field. Develop and maintain networks internally and externally, keep up to date with new developments, and make these available to other cross sections of the company as required. 

Cooperate with customers, suppliers and industry networks to implement new solutions.  

Your background 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering. 

Relevant experience would be an advantage, particularly in the fields of energetic materials, fuel systems, fin actuators. 

Proficiency in related design and analysis tools.  

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with high proficiency in English.
