POSITION SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate will get the opportunity to play a pivotal role in contributing to the company’s continued success while upholding Kongsberg’s values of Determination, Innovation, Collaboration and Reliability. You’ll work alongside a team of highly capable colleagues who are just as dedicated and ambitious as you are in their respective areas of expertise. The Project Manager will be based at Kongsberg’s Lynnwood, WA office.
As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for working with the Product Center for UUV-related deliveries and for supporting customers who already have UUVs or related products in their fleet.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor delivery times and costs.
- Continuously monitor projects and problem solve.
- Coordinate internal engineers and outsourced resources.
- Report any risks to QHSE management and/or Head of Project Management.
- Prepare and host periodic program status review meetings w/ customers and their contractors.
- Maintain configuration management documentation for customer installations.
- Track and follow up on trial cards, customer repairs, and service cases.
- Visit customer facilities and ships for meetings, technical assistance, acceptance testing, and training requirements associated with assigned projects.
- Provide technical support for bids and proposals as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical discipline.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8 years of progressive experience in design and development, 4 years management and supervision of substantive military hardware/software development, and 4 years systems analysis. Knowledge and/or experience with subsea operations and technology.
- Experience and skills necessary to perform the following tasks for shipboard and deployable command and control systems:
- Organize, direct, and coordinate planning and implementation of all contract support activities.
- Be able to formulate and review project feasibility studies, determine costs, ensure conformance to work standards.
- Interpret policies, purposes, and goals of the organizations for subordinates.
- Be able to manage logistics support analysis for military systems.
- Be able to manage systems safety studies.
- Excellent ability to review technical specifications and discern scope and effort required for execution
- Ability to travel up to several weeks per year, internationally and domestically
- Structured mind-set and work methodology, with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding English communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills.
- High level of customer service skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with cross-functional teams across departments, product centers, and regional offices.
- Analytical with an affinity to complex problem solving and time-management.
- Self-sufficient, committed, and reliable.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Kongsberg’s worldwide organization, products, deliveries, and customers is a big plus.
- UUV operational experience; offshore experience is a plus.
- Experience working within defense, or the defense industrial base is beneficial.
Pay Range: $140,000 – $165,000 annually (DOE)
