Quality Assurance Engineer

Are you passionate about software quality and looking for an exciting opportunity in Horten, Vestfold? Kongsberg Maritime is expanding and looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Maritime Simulation Team in Horten.

In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of software used in ship bridge training and simulation. You will work closely with developers, designers, and maritime experts to test and verify that our software meets high standards for safety, accuracy, and performance.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will develop and execute test plans and test cases for maritime simulation software, perform manual and automated testing to ensure software quality, and identify, document, and track bugs and issues using modern tools. You will collaborate with developers to ensure that issues are resolved effectively, contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices, and participate in agile team activities such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check. Please note that this might affect the offer process or employment.

We think you should have

To be successful in this role, you should have experience in software testing, whether manual or automated. A solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices is essential. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Selenium or Cypress, and knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud platforms like Azure will be advantageous. An interest in maritime technology or industrial software is highly valued, along with knowledge of performance and load testing.
