Kongsberg Maritime - Propulsion & Handling

Test Engineer

Are you passionate about testing and verifying products? Do you have a background in mechanics or electronics and a desire to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety? If so, you might be the one we are looking for!

As Test Engineer, you will be at the forefront of planning, executing, and analyzing tests for our products. You will be the key contact responsible for ensuring tests are conducted efficiently. You will engage in dialogue with test institutes, customers, and product owners, coordinating every aspect of the testing process. Your planning skills will be crucial as you align with different stakeholders, prepare materials, oversee shipping of products and ensure everything is set up correctly for successful testing.

Your role will involve travelling to test institutes, mostly in Sweden and across Europe, also possibly worldwide, where you will be hands-on during tests and verifications. The tests include conducting EMC, vibration, shock and other tests that could arise in our projects, to ensure compliance with regulations set by our customers. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys being hands-on with cutting-edge technology.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with an engineering degree in mechanics, electronics, or a related field. You have an interest in testing and quality assurance and can read and interpret technical standards. It is a plus if you have experience working with test institutes, test equipment and/or product verification, along with knowledge of EMC (verification of electrical equipment), vibration, and/or shock tests.

We are seeking you who have the drive and ability to coordinate effectively, with a structured working method. You should be able to work independently and plan for the tests efficiently, combined with strong collaboration skills and clear communication. Willingness to travel as needed and be hands-on during tests is something that attracts you.

At KONGSBERG, we believe that diversity fuels innovation. We encourage you to apply, even if you do not meet every requirement. Your unique perspective is valuable to us. Your skills, attitude and perspective could be exactly what we are looking for!

Since we are a company working with customers in the Naval segment, questions related to citizenship will be part of the selection process. This employment will require security clearance in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act before employment.
