Kongsberg Discovery

Manufacturing Engineer

Kongsberg Discovery is a global technology company providing innovative and reliable solutions in the ocean space. In the Seatex division, we develop world-leading products and systems for resilient navigation and situational awareness. At the core of Seatex lies a technology backbone built on GNSS, inertial systems, radar, radio frequency, and laser technologies. These technologies enable us to deliver accurate positioning and navigation systems, beamforming radar and radio communication systems, motion measurement, satellite payloads, and situational awareness solutions for ocean space applications.

We are looking for a creative, motivated, and solution-oriented Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys technical challenges and collaboration. The position will be mainly focused on software development, but some hands-on practical work will also be required. You are structured, precise, and eager to contribute to high-quality projects. We are seeking someone who has an interest in technology, a hands-on approach, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new and maintain existing manufacturing test systems, implement new features, improve performance, and refactor existing code.
  • Implement data capture solutions for our product test systems.
  • Set up new and maintain existing production lines.
  • Contribute to manufacturing process development.
  • Optimize manufacturing workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Document manufacturing and test processes.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff.

Education and Skills

  • Relevant bachelor's degree (e.g., computer science, automation, electronics, instrumentation, or telecommunication). Relevant experience may compensate for a formal degree.
  • Solid experience with software development in Python. Experience with additional languages such as JavaScript and C# is advantageous.
  • Practical experience or interest in manufacturing technology.
  • Familiarity with hardware development and testing.
  • Ability to work with CAD software for designing and modifying manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiency in English and Norwegian.

You are able to

  • Act on your own initiative, make things happen, and accept responsibility for the results.
  • Produce fresh and imaginative ideas and solutions.
  • Use a methodical and systematic approach, plan, define clear priorities, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Cooperate well with others, share knowledge, experience, information, and support others in the pursuit of team goals.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.

At KONGSBERG, we believe that diversity fuels innovation. We encourage you to apply, even if you do not meet every requirement. Your unique perspective is valuable to us. Your skills, attitude, and perspective could be exactly what we are looking for! This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority, or a background check. Please note that this might affect the offer process or employment.
