Kongsberg Discovery is expanding our activity within acoustic positioning and communication products for subsea operation, and we aim to expand our capabilities in our R&D team.

Our world class products are used in a wide range of subsea operations such as deep-water research, subsea installation, AUV, USV and mapping surveys including products such as HiPAP, cNODE, HAIN and other complementary sensors.  

What you will be working on

You will be joining a dedicated group of engineers developing products for positioning and communication during maritime operations, where you will be the mechanical designer of the product. You will work closely with people from other engineering disciplines to optimize the time to market for the product. You will join real life testing of the product onboard our research vessels in Horten.

Qualifications and experience 

• Degree within mechanical engineering or similar
• Experience using CAD tools like Inventor and/or SolidWorks
• Experience using PLM tools (Teamcenter or similar)
• Understanding of FEM modeling
• Material technology knowledge
