
Deckhouse Designer/ Deckhouse Module Manager
An interesting opportunity ahead: Deckhouse Designer for the Solution Business Unit of Kongsberg Maritime AS (KM).
We see growth opportunities within several market segments, where KM already has a proven track record with our customized deckhouse projects. We are now seeking a Deckhouse Designer who will become responsible for our projectdevelopment of Deckhouse modules delivered to both new builds and aftermarket projects.
As Deckhouse Designer you will play an important role in bid development, front-end design & engineering, and technical management of the Deckhouse project portfolio. You will work in close collaboration with sales, customers, external suppliers, and relevant stakeholders within Kongsberg Maritime AS.
The role is organised within the KM Solution Business unit where you will report to the Manager Solution Design and Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management: Establish product line based on KM existing portfolio. Maintain and improve product roadmap for Deckhouse modules.
- Initial Design: Create initial designs and layouts, estimate materials, weights, and costs.
- Interface and Functional Requirements: Define system solutions, interfaces, functions, and boundaries.
- Collaboration: Work with specialists in various engineering disciplines to integrate all necessary systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet relevant standards and regulations.
- Technical Lead: Oversee selected projects from concept to completion, managing engineering and fabrication phases.
Qualifications and experience
- Technical background and experience in Naval architecture, Marine Engineering, or equivalent background from shipyards or other relevant party.
- Experience from mechanical or electrical system design or commissioning is advantageous.
- Leadership- and communication capabilities, with ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Familiar with relevant IT tools – e.g., CAD, planning and document handling.
- Good skills in Norwegian and English, orally and writing
