Director Programs & Contracts, Naval Systems

Kongsberg Maritime has ambitions to grow considerably within the Naval domain. Kongsberg Maritime has for many years successfully sold and delivered products such as propulsion systems and stabilizers to Navies and Coast Guards around the world. Our Naval business is expected to grow further by providing more products, solutions and services to the Naval market. The main growth is expected to be achieved by adding automation & control, energy and digital services such as maritime simulators.

As part of this growth, we are looking for a Director Programs & Contracts. The role will be part of the newly established Naval Systems business unit in our Propulsion and Handling division and will be part of the Naval Systems management team. The new unit will initially focus on near term possibilities related to Naval contracts in Norway, such as the standardized vessels planned procured by the Norwegian Armed Forces.  

What you will be doing

• Be responsible for negotiating and drafting contracts for Naval Systems deliveries, both new sales and aftermarket contracts.
• Be responsible for the execution of the Naval Systems projects/programs.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with the contracts and the project/program executions.
• Build up the necessary competence within project/program management and contracting for Kongsberg Maritime to be a leading provider of complex Naval Systems.
• Gradually build up the unit with necessary competence and capacity to handle the anticipated increased volume.
• Manage highly skilled personnel.
  
  

We think you should have

• Experience from execution of complex projects.
• Ability to communicate in a clear, precise and structured way.
• Experience from negotiating and drafting complex contracts. Experience from defence contracts is preferred.
• Experience from public procurement in Norway is preferred.
• Knowledge of the Norwegian defence sector is preferred.
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in one of the Scandinavian languages and English.
• Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree.
