Team Lead, Engineering – Merchant, Handling Systems

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Team Lead Engineering within Merchant, Propulsion & Handling. In this role, you will be leading a group of highly skilled engineers. Our team designs, delivers and maintains anchoring, mooring and towing systems for a broad range of vessels within the merchant market. We are looking for candidates who are motivated and passionate about being in the forefront of technology development in the industry.

The position is in our Handling business area which owns, develops and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The area is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s winches and handling solutions.

Key accountabilities

• Lead and manage a team of talented mechanical and electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment every day
• Actively participate in the design, development, and implementation of systems and products
• Guide and oversee the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge systems and products
• Manage your team’s load & capacity
• Support project administration and engineering manager, ensure projects within department are completed on time, within budget, and to the correct quality standards
• Uphold and implement agreed engineering processes and procedures

We think you should have

• Degree within engineering or similar
• Competence and knowledge within 3-D mechanical and structural design is an advantage
• Experience with technical- and people management is an advantage
• Experience from working with project execution and customer interaction
• Practical experience from maritime industry is beneficial
