Technical Specialist Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Specialist Engineer to strengthen our Thruster Systems at Kongsberg Maritime. Our team focuses promoting sales by deepening the understanding of the specific characteristics of different vessel segments and developing targeted solutions from our product portfolio. The goal is to support the sales of propulsion systems by offering technically sound solutions that generate customer value.

The core task of the team is to understand the business, operating methods, and technical requirements of different vessel segments. Based on this understanding, we analyze how existing and new product features, as well as lifecycle solutions, can be transformed into concrete solutions and sales arguments that are implemented throughout the organization.

While the role offers flexibility for some remote work, we value and encourage regular presence at the office.

Key Responsibilities

• Study customers operations, needs and trend (end users, operators, shipyards, ship designers).
• Analyze how the product portfolio and lifecycle solutions can be utilized and developed to create value to the customers.
• Promote and develop the solutions together with the other teams and stakeholders.
• Create supporting material and documentation.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to see the big picture
• The ability to turn observations and conclusions into customer-oriented sales arguments
• Willingness and ability to produce technical material and documentation
• Good communication skills and the ability to present information clearly to both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements and preferred background:

• Relevant technical education and/or work experience
• Sufficient technical understanding of marine industry solutions
• Previous experience in the marine industry is considered an advantage
