Mechanical Fitter

Join our team in Dunfermline as a Mechanical Fitter and be at the heart of building and maintaining world-class marine equipment.

In this hands-on role, you’ll work alongside a skilled team of Fitters to assemble and test our OEM products, as well as overhaul critical marine systems on site in our factory.

From stabilisers and naval steering gear to shaft lines and gearboxes, you’ll bring complex machinery to life — all while working from detailed drawings, specifications, and work instructions. If you're ready to take on a role where precision meets purpose, we want to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Deburr, inspect, and, where required, prime-paint parts prior to assembly.
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Handle detailed components with tight tolerances.
  • Assist stores personnel with packing finished products according to specifications.
  • Support the loading and unloading of finished parts for transport.
  • Provide assistance to the Service Department within the factory as needed.
  • Carry out additional tasks as delegated by the Team Leader or Manager, within your skill set.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to manage HSE responsibilities and drive continuous improvement.

We think you should have

  • Recognised apprenticeship and/or qualification in mechanical fitting (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mechanical fitting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience working in an operations or production setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficient in the use of torquing tools and equipment.
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems and components.
  • Self-starter with a high level of motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Forklift licence and crane/slinging certification are advantageous.

Due to security requirements, candidates must be eligible for and able to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance for this role.
