Product Manager – Sub-Bottom Mapping
Kongsberg Discovery is growing – and we want you to be part of our journey. Join us as Product Manager for Sub-Bottom Mapping. In this role, you will own the roadmap for our sub-bottom profilers (SBP) and electromagnetic (EM) sensors, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver solutions that set the benchmark in underwater mapping.
At the core of our mission is making the unseen visible. As product manager for our SBP and EM sensors, you’ll collaborate across disciplines to deliver systems that redefine what’s possible in marine survey. We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in the application of these technologies—someone who thrives where advanced hardware meets real-world challenges, and who knows how to turn user needs into robust product strategies. If that sounds like you, we want to talk to you.
Our vision: To be the benchmark in underwater mapping, delivering intuitive highperformance product solutions with a unified software ecosystem that enable smarter, safer and more efficient survey and monitoring operations.
What you will be doing
- Own the product roadmap for sub-bottom profilers and EM sensors – from strategy to lifecycle.
- Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to capture insights and translate them into clear requirements.
- Partner with R&D to deliver robust, surveyready systems and manage tradeoffs across performance, cost and usability.
- Integrate hardware with our unified software ecosystem to ensure seamless workflows.
- Drive portfolio economics – business cases, pricing, and competitive positioning.
- Plan and execute product launches, ensuring strong value propositions and market impact.
- Manage lifecycle decisions, including quality improvements and endoflife planning.
We think you should have
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated strength in building and nurturing networks—both inside and outside the organization—to align priorities and drive results.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with hydrographic standards and workflows
- Technical fluency in geophysics or marine instrumentation.
- Handson experience with sub-bottom profilers or EM equipment in geophysical survey operations.
- Product management fundamentals – creating road map, prioritisation, and iterative delivery.
At KONGSBERG, we believe that diversity fuels innovation. We encourage you to apply, even if you do not meet every requirement. Your unique perspective is valuable to us. Your skills, attitude and perspective could be exactly what we are looking for!
