
Embedded Software Engineer
At Kongsberg Discovery we are developing new and revolutionary technology that operates from the deepest oceans to the outer space. We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer that can join our Vessel Robotics team, filling the position of a recently created vacancy. In this role you will have to apply in depth technical knowledge of control algorithms and HW electronics to create novel solutions for underwater autonomous robots. You will act as part of the SW team responsible for the robot- and system control SW, interacting with our mechanical-, electronics- and other software engineers.
In this role you will collaborate with product development, and field operations to improve the control algorithms and SW implementation on a product that takes on some of the world’s most challenging problems within environment and sustainability.

Responsibilities
- Define and implement new SW for underwater robots.
- Taking responsibility of improving the products existing SW structure through DevOps activities.
- Design and support of SW subsystems. Make complete SW systems integrated with the robot host platform. Make SW system concept proposals.
Qualifications and experience
- Master’s degree or equivalent formal education within one or more of the fields within Cybernetics, Computer Science or Electronics Systems Design.
- Minimum 4-5 years of programming experience.
- Competency in the field of robotics, such as: SW tools (C/C++, Python), Embedded SW development using RTOS and Linux, motor controllers (CanOpen)
- Knowledge of data processing and ability to use common tools (Matlab/Python) for data analysis.
- Interest in conducting field experiments and feasibility studies.
This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check.
