Specialist Software Engineer R&D – EchoSounder Team

Translate customer needs and technical requirements into actionable software goals and architecture. 

Define and prioritize product features in collaboration with product stakeholders. 

Contribute to maintain a clear software product roadmap and backlog aligned with strategic objectives (Technology strategy, Strategic product plan, product roadmaps). 

Coordinate with project managers, system/software engineers and testers to deliver high-impact and high-quality solutions. 

Develop and maintain software interfacing with proprietary hydroacoustic sensors. 

Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to ensure system performance and reliability. 

Participate in agile development, testing, and integration—both in lab environments and aboard vessels. 

Work with global software teams to build reusable modules for high-performance applications. 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. 

Experience with software product plans and roadmaps. 

Experience with developing user stories meeting the software requirements for projects  

Proficiency in C#/C++, multi-threaded programming and communication protocols. 

Experience in all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle. 

Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English. 

Beneficial to have experience with system/software V-model (system requirements, system architecture and design, software requirements, software architecture, design and software implementation). 

Experience with gamechanger technologies (AI, cloud, 3D) is a plus. 

Experience or interest in agile methodologies and digital product development is a plus.
