POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Marketing and Communications manager is part of the central marketing team and is responsible for planning, developing, and executing marketing and communications strategies for the company, both externally and internally. This position manages the marketing and communications strategy for the Americas region and oversees all phases of the process.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for Americas aligned with global objectives and local market needs.
  • Serve as a member of the central marketing team and ensure activities throughout the region comply with Kongsberg Discovery’s brand guidelines and corporate standards.
  • Work jointly with the sales and product management teams to support brand awareness and engagement for KD’s products in the region.
  • Have close cooperation with the defense programs capture team to coordinate marketing support and alignment.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs in the region.
  • Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, events, and PR to drive brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Plan and execute tactical marketing activities within the region.
  • Contribute with content creation for all digital platforms

Communications/PR

  • Assist with internal and external communication initiatives and events to facilitate clear information sharing across various channels and keep all necessary stakeholders updated.

  • Coordinate with KD Corporate Communication to support and improve brand awareness and media coverage in the region.
  • Establish connections with governmental bodies, universities, and other institutions to enhance KONGSBERG’s brand visibility and recruitment efforts in alignment with the Director of Governmental Affairs and KD Corporate Communication.

Events

  • Oversee the coordination and organization of tradeshow.
  • Planning and execution of corporate events as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in strategic marketing or corporate communications.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications roles.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful regional marketing strategies.
  • Experience working in robotics is a must. Preferred experience working in a global organization with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in B2B marketing, preferably in technology, defense, or industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing integrated campaigns across digital, print, events, and PR.
  • Experience coordinating with government entities, universities, and media outlets.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM platforms, and analytics software.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across departments and geographies.
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and brand consistency.
  • Ability to conduct market research and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Deep understanding of the Americas market landscape and cultural nuances.
  • Ability to align regional strategies with global brand and corporate standards.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (approx. 20–30%).
  • Security clearance or ability to obtain one may be required depending on defense-related responsibilities.

The incumbent is also required to complete any other tasks associated with Kongsberg Discovery activities as deemed appropriate.

Work Location: Remote in the Washington D.C. area

Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually, DOE
