Product Advisor – External Situational Awareness in Maritime Domain

Join Kongsberg Discovery and our Seatex division in Trondheim as Product Advisor within Situational Awareness. We are a global leader in marine technology, developing world-class solutions for positioning, motion measurement, radar and radio systems, satellite payloads, and situational awareness for the ocean space.

About the role

As a Product Advisor, you will combine technical understanding, business insight, and customer focus to help create solutions that deliver real impact in the maritime industry. You’ll act as the key link between our customers, development teams, and commercial functions – ensuring that our products meet real-world needs and deliver measurable value.

You will take ownership of one or more projects and product activities, both internally and externally. The role includes some travel for customer visits, field support, and conferences. If you are passionate about quality, collaboration, and operational excellence – we would love to hear from you! We will review applications on an ongoing basis.

You will work closely with

• Cross-functional development teams
• Customers and end-users
• Sales and marketing

Key responsibilities

• Support sales and marketing with product insight and expertise
• Drive and support implementation projects with customers
• Contribute to testing, validation, and release of products
• Provide input to product and development plans
• Engage with users to ensure adoption and maximize value
• Communicate internally and externally to align goals and progress

What we’re looking for

• A relevant technical background (e.g., marine engineering, software, electronics, or digital systems)
• A curious and committed mindset, eager to explore, understand, and solve problems
• Experience from the maritime domain is an advantage, but not required
• Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English
• A structured, proactive, and collaborative approach to work
• A genuine interest in turning technology into value for customers

Security clearance requirement

The position requires a security clearance from the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM). The selected candidate may start with limited access while the clearance process is ongoing. Please note that this may affect the offer process or employment timeline.
