Commissioning Coordinator – Thruster Systems
Are you interested in working with advanced propulsion solutions for the maritime market of today and tomorrow? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Coordinator within Global Customer Support Thrusters at Kongsberg Maritime.
In this role, you will be part of the Customer and Delivery Operations function within the Thruster Systems business area. You will have technical and delivery responsibility for commissioning of thruster systems, acting as the main interface between customers, shipyards, site teams, field service engineers, and internal stakeholders.
As a Commissioning Coordinator, you will be the single-point responsible for planning, executing, and completing the commissioning scope for Kongsberg Maritime thruster systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Single-point responsibility for planning, executing, and delivering the complete thruster commissioning scope
- Develop and maintain commissioning plans, timelines, and execution strategies
- Lead and coordinate commissioning activities together with Kongsberg site teams
- Act as the primary technical and operational interface towards customers and shipyards during commissioning
- Provide technical leadership and support to Field Service Engineers (FSEs)
- Review installations and provide technical approval for thruster system installation
- Ensure alignment and coordination with New Sales and project stakeholders
- Manage commissioning deviations, technical risks, and corrective actions
- Ensure commissioning documentation, reporting, and formal technical closure
- Contribute to continuous improvement of commissioning methods, processes, and tools
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant technical background (equivalent experience may compensate)
- Strong technical understanding of marine thruster systems or comparable complex marine equipment
- Experience with commissioning, technical project execution, or delivery of marine systems
- Ability to plan, structure, and drive technical activities from preparation to completion
- A customer-focused mindset with the confidence to take technical lead toward shipyards and partners
We Think You Should Have
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant technical background (equivalent experience may compensate)
- Strong technical understanding of marine thruster systems or comparable complex marine equipment
- Experience with commissioning, technical project execution, or delivery of marine systems
- Ability to plan, structure, and drive technical activities from preparation to completion
- A customer-focused mindset with the confidence to take technical lead toward shipyards and partners
- Good written and spoken communication skills in English
- Experience from the marine industry is considered an advantage
