Manager, Platform Operations & Infrastructure – Digital

Kongsberg Maritime operates software platforms that span global cloud environments and distributed vessel-edge systems, supporting safety-critical and business-critical maritime operations.

Kongsberg Maritime is growing, and we are strengthening our Technology Platforms organization. We are seeking a Manager Platform Operations & Infrastructure, to lead the operation, reliability, and evolution of KM’s digital runtime environments across cloud and distributed edge systems. This role is accountable for ensuring that all platform products and applications are delivered on secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure, supporting both centralized cloud services and vessel-based edge deployments.

You will be part of a collaborative and technically strong Technology Platforms organization, working across product lines to build the infrastructure enabling next-generation maritime solutions.

What you will be doing

• Own and lead the Platform Operations & Infrastructure domain, covering cloud environments and distributed edge/vessel systems.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of all platform and application runtimes across cloud and edge.
• Lead the operation of cloud infrastructure platforms, including container orchestration, networking, and security baselines.
• Own edge infrastructure and device management, including provisioning, identity, lifecycle management, and fleet-wide orchestration.
• Establish and operate fleet-scale deployment and runtime environments, supporting containerized applications and OTA updates.
• Drive operational excellence through SRE practices, including SLAs, SLOs, monitoring, and incident management.
• Ensure consistent observability across cloud and edge, including logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Lead automation-first operations, including infrastructure as code, self-service capabilities, and standardized runtime environments.
• Ensure compliance with security, safety, and regulatory requirements across all operational environments.
• Collaborate closely with Platform Product teams to ensure alignment between platform capabilities and runtime environments.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of infrastructure engineers, SREs, and operations specialists.
• Act as the primary escalation point for platform reliability, incidents, and operational risks..

We think you have

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience leading cloud and/or distributed infrastructure operations at scale.
• Strong experience with container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes), cloud-native architectures, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with edge computing, IoT platforms, or distributed systems is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of SRE practices, monitoring, and incident management.
• Experience operating platforms used by multiple teams or business units.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
