Test Engineer
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Test Engineer to help shape the maritime future. As a technology pioneer enabling a more sustainable future for our oceans, we develop advanced solutions that play a key role in the green shift — including projects aimed at reducing emissions and supporting global decarbonization efforts.
As a Test Engineer, you will be part of the Vessel Automation Product Test Department, where our mission is to ensure that our highly complex and innovative systems deliver truly world‑class performance and reliability.
What you will be doing
You will be testing products/solutions in a combined delivery and development influenced environment. Primarily you will be working with software but expect to be involved in how the software interacts with the outside world. You will be contributing to product quality and development efficiency in cross-functional teams, in different stages of product/solution development. Involvement may range from testing early concepts up to standardization and products utilization phases, securing that the developed products and solutions work as intended in challenging and integrated environments.
Typical responsibilities would be
- Explore, learn, and analyze the system to create and perform innovative tests in collaboration with the team(s)
- Develop and improve test strategy to fit the needs of the products and teams
- Execute tests and interpret the results, report and follow up on cases towards development teams
- Design, configure, build and maintain test environments
We think you should have
- Bachelor or master level in computer science, cybernetics, or similar
- Technical understanding, curiosity and ability to learn
- Experience with and interest in software development, and testing in particular
- Good verbal and written English
Even if you don’t meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply. The right attitude and motivation can outweigh gaps in experience.
Whether you're at the beginning of your career or already have a few years under your belt, we’re committed to helping you grow. With hands-on challenges, guidance, and a supportive team, we’ll help you become the best test engineer you can be.
You are able to
- act on own initiative, make things happen and accept responsibility for the results
- work with large and complex systems, and enjoy the challenge
- use a methodical and systematic approach, plan ahead, define clear priorities and allocate your resources effectively
- co-operate well with KM colleagues and others in Norway and internationally. Share knowledge, experience, information and support colleagues in the pursuit of team goals
- demonstrate specialist knowledge and expertise in own area
And it is beneficial if you
- can develop own test tools and develop scripted/automated test
- can read/understand code to some extent
- have some experience with maritime systems
What we can offer you
- An exciting and important position working for the world-leading supplier of maritime solutions
- International work environment and multidisciplinary team collaboration
- Professional development and career opportunities
- Competitive terms including attractive insurance policies and pension schemes
Interviews can be held on an ongoing basis. Don’t hesitate, and apply today!
