Software Automation Engineer
Ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a Software Automation Engineer to join our Control & Digital department. In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering control systems for advanced offshore handling equipment.
Our solutions support Launch and Recovery Systems for ROVs, AUVs, and oceanographic equipment used on research and offshore vessels. You will contribute to developing robust and reliable control systems, working closely with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical disciplines to ensure safe and efficient operations.

What you will be doing
- Develop and maintain control system software and operator interfaces (GUI)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical engineering)
- Test and verify software in lab environments
- Contribute to technical documentation, including manuals and functional descriptions
- Build understanding of complete systems, including mechanical and hydraulic interfaces
- Work with PLC programming tools such as Codesys and Siemens TIA Portal
- Support commissioning activities and offshore operations when required
- Provide technical support and contribute to upgrade and aftermarket projects
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Cybernetics, or Computer Engineering
- Experience with PLC programming (Codesys and/or Siemens TIA Portal)
- Understanding of industrial control systems and interfaces
- Experience with frequency converters is an advantage
- Experience from similar systems (e.g. winch, crane, or handling systems) is beneficial
