Definition
The department gives training courses aimed primarily at external customers, but also in-house training for company employees. Courses include operator- and technical training on all KONGSBERG products and applications, and can also include disciplines where KONGSBERG products are used.

Responsibility

• Prepare, develop, implement and maintain the course. Courses that are developed, shall be prepared and evaluated in accordance with current practices
• Keep under constant review the matters affecting course completion, by department, course developer documentation, training coordinator and training department's database
• Assist in develop and implement special training-courses
• Ensure to be updated in their field, both with knowledge of the physical product and also in the art of distributing knowledge
• Active exchange experiences with other department directors and employees
• Initiate a need for the necessary equipment for training activities
• Implement the activities required by current procedures
• Answer inquiries from customers in a positive way, and if necessary pass the request to the appropriate department / person
• Represent KONGSBERG by conducting training for customers, as well as participate in meetings as the department representative

Authority

• Implement measures to correct the error on the department's training equipment
• Suggest improvements and equipment- and application-upgrades to customers, as well as reporting requirements to the department
• Seek contact with authorities / communities in the company that possesses expertise / documentation necessary when developing and implementing courses

Competence

• Education from maritime Industry at a bachelor or master level, preferably holding a Ch-mate (or higher) Certificate
• Experience from DP-vessel holding a DP certificate
• Good expertise and broad knowledge of KONGSBERG products, and educational interest
• Must be able to do some travel activity
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a hectic environment
• Ability to collaborate with others in the team
• Be customer oriented and service minded
• Possess abilities and have talent for teaching
• Fluent English written and spoken
