Senior Project Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation, implementation, and commissioning of digital products and solutions for K-IMS deliveries. You will be a valued member of a diverse and dynamic team, and you will have the opportunity to contribute and take part in the development of Kongsberg Maritimes digital platform solutions, design and development.

Kongsberg Information Management System (K-IMS) is a digital platform that collects, stores, analyses and presents information to its users. DIG (Digital Interface Gateway) as part of K-IMS deliveries, is a solution that stands for data communication between systems both offshore and onshore. This solution communicates on multiple protocols and acts as a consolidating link for all data capture and communication across the systems.

What you will be doing

• Collaborate in integrated teams with other Project Engineers and customers
• Responsibility in projects for DIG delivery
• Upgrades, installations and testing of DIG system
• DIG Functionality Configuration
• Troubleshooting and maintenance of DIG delivery on various installations
• Contact with software supplier regarding further development of DIG functionality
• Travel to site/offshore if needed, approx. 30 days/year

We think you should have

• Engineer (B.Sc./B.Eng) in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Automation and Control Systems
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the desirable qualifications
• Good communication skills in English and Norwegian, both written and spoken

Experience with any of the following is an advantage:

• OPC UA
• Automation systems
• Computer networks, data communications and protocols
• Microsoft Windows Server
• MS SQL Server
• Time series databases (Aveva PI, TimescaleDB)
• Virtualized environment (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Microsoft Excel
• Python/PowerShell or similar scripting knowledge is an advantage
• Fluent oral/written Norwegian and English communication skills
