HR Generalist – Mexico (Supporting Mexico, Chile, and Panama)

 

We are seeking a proactive and well-rounded HR Generalist to support our growing team in Veracruz, Mexico, while also providing HR support to our offices in Chile and Panama. This role is responsible for delivering day-to-day HR operations and supporting key initiatives across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Mexican labor laws and familiarity with HR practices in Latin America, while collaborating with global HR teams to ensure alignment with company-wide standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws and internal HR policies, including documentation, reporting, and employee records management.
  • Provide HR support and guidance to teams in Chile and Panama, ensuring alignment with local regulations and company standards.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process across supported locations, from job posting to onboarding, delivering a positive candidate experience.
  • Support performance management processes by guiding managers and employees through goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, investigations, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair and consistent practices.
  • Assist in implementing and administering talent development and training programs to foster employee growth and engagement.
  • Promote a culture of continuous feedback and performance excellence across all supported offices.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support administration of local compensation and benefits programs, including statutory benefits in Mexico, and coordinate with local teams in Chile and Panama.
  • Conduct HR-related training sessions for employees and managers on topics such as workplace policies, performance management, and compliance.
  • Encourage use of HR systems (e.g., Workday) for employee and manager self-service and maintain accurate HRIS data.
  • Conduct employee check-ins and review survey data to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement in the employee experience.
  • Stay current on HR trends, labor law updates, and best practices across Mexico and Latin America.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written (Spanish and English required).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, multi-country environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday experience is a plus).
  • Ability to align HR practices with business goals and organizational culture.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a generalist or HR operations role.
  • Solid understanding of Mexican labor law and exposure to HR practices in Latin America.
  • Experience supporting a multinational or matrixed organization is a plus.
  • SHRM-CP or similar certification is a plus.
  • Legally authorized to work in Mexico without company sponsorship.
