POSITION SUMMARY:

As an AUV Systems Integration & Field Engineer, you will play a pivotal role at the intersection of high-precision manufacturing and elite offshore operations. You will oversee the full lifecycle of underwater robotics—from advanced mechanical and electrical assembly of HUGIN Superior vehicles and specialized deployment systems to their commissioning, mission planning, and comprehensive field maintenance.

This position demands a superior blend of "bench-level" technical expertise coupled with "deck-level" operational resilience. You will lead the assembly of sophisticated, mission-specific AUV platforms in the facility and transition seamlessly to global field sites to support, maintain, and troubleshoot AUV systems in challenging maritime environments.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assembly & Integration
    • Lead Assembly: Oversee high-level mechanical and electrical assembly of AUVs, including integration of specialized sensor payloads and cutting-edge hydrographic equipment.
    • Quality Assurance: Inspect and approve critical components from subcontractors, ensuring compliance with rigorous quality standards.
    • Commissioning & Testing: Execute comprehensive commissioning, testing, and verification processes for new builds and refits in collaboration with Project Engineers.
  • Field Operations & Mission Support
    • Mission Leadership: Direct AUV mission planning, conduct sea trials, and perform post-mission data analysis to evaluate and enhance vehicle performance.
    • On-site Operations: Facilitate on-site operations of AUV/USV systems at customer sites and aboard offshore vessels worldwide.
    • Specialized Support: Ensure the reliability of HUGIN assets and rapid-response underwater vehicles in specialized deployment scenarios.
  • Technical Support & Maintenance
    • Comprehensive Assistance: Provide advanced technical support to customers, encompassing hardware, software, networking, and acoustic equipment.
    • Field Service Expertise: Conduct in-house and field-based service, including the replacement and calibration of sensitive electronic and mechanical components.
    • Reporting & Documentation: Document all test results and generate thorough service reports to monitor vehicle health and project outcomes meticulously.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Robotics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the commissioning, testing, and maintenance of intricate electronics and mechanical systems. Proficiency in networking and software installation is mandatory.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient understanding of AUV data systems, hydrographic sensors, and acoustic equipment with a track record of mastering new technologies through advanced training.
  • Operational Flexibility: Willingness to travel 50% or more domestically and internationally, including extended offshore deployments.
  • Dynamic Adaptability: Excels in a high-pressure, dynamic environment, effectively managing multiple workshop and field-service activities.
  • Independent Initiative: Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in diverse field settings while maintaining a strong collaborative spirit with team members.
  • Quality-Focused Precision: Systematic approach to troubleshooting with an unwavering commitment to quality and operational productivity.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Capacity to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Valid Driver’s License and a current Passport.

Pay Range: $40.00 - $55.00/hr. plus overtime (DOE)

Work Location: Lynnwood, WA

Hybrid work schedule with manager approval (1 day a week remote)
