Automation/Electrical Engineer – Maritime electrical equipment
Do you want to work with advanced maritime technology that keeps vessels operating safely and efficiently worldwide? We are looking for an Engineer with solid experience in PLC programming and configuration of drives used in modern maritime power and automation systems.
As part of our Global Customer Support division, you will play a key role in delivering upgrades, support, and improvements to Kongsberg Maritime’s systems onboard vessels. Your work will include software updates, integration of our equipment with other onboard systems, and contributing to safe and reliable operation for our customers across the globe.
Responsibilities
- Software programming of our application software for frequency converters, PLC systems, HMI Screens, and other application system onboard vessels (Mitsubishi PLC, B&R PLC, Vacon Application, Siemens application, ABB applications, Beijer application)
- Attend supplier and customer interface meetings and equipment testing
- Support new technologies and participate in the development of our product range both onsite and remote.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor or technical college degree in electro or automation system engineering or other relevant education
- Extended knowledge of either frequency converter Drives, power management systems, energy management systems and Energy Storage systems.
- Strong Software skills are highly required. Function block and Structured text.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
