An exciting opportunity has arisen as Field Service Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Field Service Engineer, reporting to Regional Manager Propulsion– Latin America. In this role, you will primarily work with various Kongsberg propulsion mechanical/hydraulic services, commissioning and upgrades related to the product portfolio. The position requires availability to travel (domestic and international) to attend service and training in planned or short notice demands including weekends and holidays, whenever required.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Undergraduate Degree or equivalent education in an Engineering and/or Technical Discipline and/or minimum of three years of Propulsion Field Service experience in the Marine Industry Be customer oriented and “service minded”.
• Passion and patience to support customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to handle simultaneous activities and work in a hectic environment.
• Willing to expand technical knowledge to other areas through cross-department opportunities.
• Availability to travel with short notice, after hours, holidays/weekend, for long periods both locally and internationally
• Must be comfortable with extended travel activity and work tasks controlled by our customers.
• Be a team worker, with excellent cooperative skills towards colleagues and customers.
• Ability to produce and interpret technical documentation.
• Strong verbal communication and written reporting skills in Spanish and English language
• Ability to work independently, self-driven.
• Dedication and desire to build a long career within the technical field.

Tasks:

• Undertake relevant routine maintenance, repair, and commissioning work on Propulsion equipment, in accordance with maintenance contracts.
• Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and work order requests to determine necessary steps for maintenance and repair.
• Inspect, analyse, record calibration results, and produce Service and Technical Reports.
• Create maintenance service records/recommendations and provide them to the Service Coordination team and customer.
• Advise customers on additional propulsion products and service offerings for potential upgrade options.
• Support the Workshops in the region as needed.
• Provide excellent level of support to customers by phone, e-mail, and at site, both onshore and offshore.
• Availability to travel with short notice, after hours, holidays/weekend, for long periods both locally and internationally
• Provide technical assistance to Sales, After sales, customer, and Propulsion team.
• Responsible for updating CRM, databases and documentation after regular services according to Global Customer Support processes.
• Develop own qualifications by participating at internal / external courses and education.

Authority:

• Prioritize and complete work tasks for the assigned service trip or project.
• Carry out actions to prevent errors within our delivery and after sales deliveries.
• Report all safety/security related incidents offshore.
• Complete and submit timesheets and expenses in a timely fashion.
• Ownership over assigned cases and/or service trips
• Suggest improvements to our products and report needs to Service Manager or main office.
• Make proactive suggestions to customers on available upgrades and new products while visiting onboard.
