Summer Internship 2026: Resilient Navigation at Kongsberg Discovery - Seatex

Kongsberg Discovery - Seatex is at the forefront of technological innovation, and we invite you to be part of our journey this summer. We're searching for students who are eager to blend their academic pursuits with real-world applications, particularly in the realm of GNSS denied navigation, situational awareness, inertial solutions and machine learning.

This year’s internships will involve working on exciting and challenging problems related to resilient navigation, sensor fusion, situational awareness, and data-driven insights. You’ll get hands-on experience with real-world systems, contribute to software and algorithm development, and collaborate with experienced engineers in a dynamic and supportive environment.

We're seeking students with skills or interests in one or more of the following areas:

• Software Development
• Physics & Mathematics
• Electronics Design
• Control Systems & Cybernetics
• Robotics
• Simulation
• Machine Learning

If you align with any of these expertise areas and have a genuine passion for technology, we'd be pleased to consider you for our summer project. Please note that employment with us may require clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check.

What we can offer

Kongsberg Discovery is part of a project called Workation in Trondheim, which offers a unique summer program for students with a job in one of the 20 participating companies. Among the activities the students got to experience during the summer of 2025 were a kayaking trip on the Nidelva river, a volleyball tournament, go-karting, minigolf, and beer tasting at ØX. All is free for you as a student! This summer program is a great opportunity to get to know new people across companies and make friends for life. We and Workation will make sure you have an unforgettable summer here in Trondheim.
