Senior Business Advisor – Maritime Decarbonisation
Shape a sustainable future at KONGSBERG. Ensuring greener strategies for People and Planet.
We’re seeking an experienced and business-minded advisor to strengthen our strategic work within maritime decarbonisation. This is a key role for someone who understands the bigger picture — how technology, market, and partnerships come together to drive real change.
As Senior Business Advisor – Maritime Decarbonisation, you will help position Kongsberg Maritime (KM) as a trusted energy transition partner for the global fleet. You will develop strategies, identify business opportunities, and turn insights into action — working closely with internal stakeholders and customers worldwide. With the ultimate goal of positioning Kongsberg Maritime as the preferred partner for fleet conversion programs.
This is a highly visible role with broad exposure across the organization. You will shape new initiatives, engage senior leaders, and help define how KM navigates emerging opportunities in the green transition.
What you will be doing
- Build and lead business initiatives that strengthen KM’s position in the green maritime transition
- Develop and present strategies, feasibility studies, and business cases — connecting insights from across the organisation
- Collaborate with regional sales, product, and strategy teams to identify commercial opportunities and align direction
- Engage senior stakeholders internally and externally to promote KM’s capabilities and influence strategic decisions
- Represent KM in meetings, forums, and customer discussions — creating visibility and trust
- Contribute to establishing a new team and framework for long-term positioning within green fleet solutions
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment between business development, product strategy, and market execution
We think you should have
- Proven experience in business development or strategy roles within the maritime or energy sector, and a strong commercial mindset
- Relevant higher education, preferably within business, engineering, or similar — or equivalent experience from the maritime or energy sector
- Ability to analyse complex information, connect the dots, and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Confidence to influence and engage senior stakeholders with clarity and credibility
- Good communication skills and a structured, professional presence in both internal and customer-facing settings
- A broad professional network and the ability to build and maintain relationships across the industry
We also believe potential matters
If this role excites you, but your background doesn’t tick every box — we’d still like to hear from you. We are open to candidates with a strong drive, solid analytical and commercial skills, and a genuine motivation to grow into the role.
You are able to
- Develop an ambitious, yet realistic business vision and translate it into a workable strategy
- Identify and shape commercial opportunities that drive growth and long-term positioning
- Make an impact, convince and persuade others, and promote ideas successfully
- Build a useful network of contacts and utilise it to achieve objectives
- Communicate clearly, precisely, and with impact
