Operational Buyer – Thruster Systems

Kongsberg Maritime is seeking an Operational Buyer to join our Operational procurement team within the Thruster Systems business unit for a fixed-term contract until 30.4.2026.

Our Propulsion and Handling (P&H) division owns, develops and delivers world class products for Propulsion, Handling systems, motion Control and waterjets for all Marine industry, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s Propulsion and Handling systems.

In the role as Operational Buyer – Thruster Systems you will plan and execute purchasing activities in the operational purchasing team according to best practice and contribute to optimizing our purchasing activities supporting both aftermarket/spares and new sales activities. KM has a strong focus on building supplier portfolio, establishing a profitable business and entering new product- and market areas.

Key accountabilities:

• Place orders in our ERP-system and follow up on signals to ensure good flow and delivery within expected time, cost, and quality.
• Ensure good communication with our suppliers and develop them into being the best they can.
• Continuously challenge our existing supplier base through being pro-active and strategic, working for cost-optimized solutions throughout the value chain
• Support aftermarket to meet customer demands.

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree from technical/economical/logistics or other relevant subjects or relevant work experience
• We also see it positive if you can read drawings and you are having basic knowledge of mechanical engineering
• Good communication skills in Finnish and English. Knowledge in other languages in addition are an advantage.
