CAD / PLM Specialist

At Kongsberg Maritime, our Technology and Analysis team supports engineering excellence by supporting all product families within the Propulsion and Handling – Thruster organization. We collaborate across disciplines, solve technical challenges, and contribute with our engineering competence to ongoing projects and product development.
In this position, you will be a part of our community of PLM and CAD key users and experts across Kongsberg Maritime sites and business. You will be part of shaping the future of engineering and PLM by participating in ongoing development and improvements projects. We are therefore looking for you who enjoy cross-functional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and have a genuine motivation and interest in CAD modelling.

Assignments in this role
- Local CAD / PLM specialist and key user for Ulsteinvik within the Thrusters organization.
- Provide user support for CAD and PLM locally in Ulsteinvik and be part of the community of PLM key users that support CAD and PLM across the Kongsberg Maritime organization in general
- Be part of the KM-wide community of key users and PLM specialists from various parts of the business and contribute to CAD and PLM development and improvement activities that will shape the future of engineering and PLM in Kongsberg Maritime
- Provide CAD advice and best practice support for the engineering communities
- Support the product engineering organization by delivering advanced CAD modeling and general engineering skills and services into various multi-disciplined product improvement and development projects
- Support various other parts of the organization, such as for example hydrodynamics, with creation of advanced free-form 3D CAD models
- Training and follow up of CAD and PLM users
Qualifications
- We are looking for someone who is a quick learner with an ability to acquire deep knowledge of complex tools, and who has an inherent interest in new technology and a drive for improvement and innovation,
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience with advanced 3D MCAD systems and preferably also PLM systems, preferably both as a user and systems administrator
- Specific experience with Siemens NX MCAD system and Teamcenter PLM is an advantage, but not a requirement, relevant training will be given
- General IT competence and knowledge, including for example programming languages, is also beneficial
- Practical mechanical engineering experience from maritime industry sector or similar is an advantage
This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check.
