Field Service Engineer – Dynamic Positioning Hardware

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Field Service Engineer – Dynamic Positioning Hardware, reporting to Regional Director Customer Support – Sensors and Robotics. In this role, you will work with our Dynamic Positioning Systems and be responsible for servicing our systems primarily in the Americas’ region with the possibility for Global travel as well. One will provide technical support as well as commission new systems. Providing service and support to all types of DP installations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Technical support on Dynamic Positioning Systems, Kongsberg Reference Systems, other Vendor Reference Systems, and various Navigation Systems
  • General support activities and technical assistance including on sight and remote support
  • Up to 50% travel for service trips to vessels, shipyard, and other customer sites
  • Commissioning work on new builds and upgrades to existing installations
  • Technical assistance to Sales & Marketing and Aftersales
  • Follow up with appropriate technical department after service jobs
  • Develop qualifications by participating at internal / external courses and education
  • Maintain certifications through yearly online certification tests
  • Report problems and suggest improvements using KM Quality Tools as QC Responsible
  • Able to operate in a remote environment

Qualifications and Experience:

Functional / Technical – Knowledge and abilities to perform work with quality results

  • Associate degree in technical discipline or work equivalent
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the US without company sponsorship
  • Ability to handle simultaneous activities and work in a hectic environment

Management – Attributes & Capabilities illustrating management potential

  • Be a team player
  • Good communication skills and fluent in English
  • Dedication and desire to build a long career within the technical field
