Test and verification specialist - power electronics and drives

In the role as test and verification specialist power electronics and drives you will be working in the Power Electronics team. The team is responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting the core of Kongsberg’s power electronics technology and drive products. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our test infrastructure, and you will be taking the lead on testing and qualifying new power electronic converters and drive solutions. You will work closely with our hardware and software engineers to create optimized drive products for the marine industry making sure they are tested according to the latest class rules. As a member of this team you will be working with the core of the technology that enables the integration of new energy sources and energy efficient solutions for the ongoing green shift in the maritime industry.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Testing and verification of new power electronic converters, drive technology and products
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing test infrastructure for full power test lab
  • Establish test plans and procedures
  • Support on drive parametrization and commissioning
  • Lead type test with class societies
  • Provide experience based feedback for continuous product development

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience with testing and commissioning power electronics converters and drive systems
  • Experience with testing and qualification of new products according to product standards
  • Knowledge of relevant product standards and marine class rules
  • Experience with setup and use of relevant test equipment and instruments
  • Good understanding of power electronic converters and their application
  • Experience with making test plans and procedures
  • Good organization and coordination skills
