Technical Training Instructor

We are seeking an excellent communicator who can actively contribute to the continued growth of our Customer Training Centre.  The position will be primarily based within our Training Centre in Aberdeen;  however, some international travel to our other Training Centres may be offered but not required. 

At our well-equipped training centre in Aberdeen, we run various courses covering a comprehensive range of KONGSBERG manufactured equipment including Automation, Dynamic positioning, Subsea, Position reference and control systems. Due to rise in business, we currently have an opportunity for a Training Instructor to join our existing multi-disciplined team.

We believe that customer training is a cornerstone to our success by ensuring that users maximise the use of our system features and therefore we have established training centre’s around the world.  

Key accountabilities

  • Help develop, prepare, conduct and evaluate customer technical training programs encompassing the range of systems used by UK, Ireland & Global customers
  • Assist in the planning of technical courses ensuring that they are conducted with a minimum of cancellations
  • Help manage customer training equipment, utilising engineers from Customer Support, to maintain 100% operability
  • Assist in regular reviews to ensure that the company is addressing training requirements of customers in the UK, Ireland & Globally
  • Actively participate in global customer training activities including course development

Qualifications and experience

  • Engineering qualification in electronics or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience in Marine, Offshore or relevant related industry
  • Marine automation or power management experience desirable
  • Experience in an offshore technical support role for marine systems or survey instrumentation would be advantageous
  • No training delivery experience required as full training will be provided
  • Valid Passport or other current permission to work in the UK
