Kongsberg Discovery

Software Team Lead

Do you believe our oceans are vital to our future? Would you like to be in the forefront of developing our market leading software as part of the Echosounder software team?

Kongsberg Discovery creates today's and next-generation underwater technology that helps our clients explore and understand marine life and the ocean space. The technology we build is used by vessels, research ships and underwater vehicles around the world - every single day. Echosounders, ADCP, sensors and systems that use sound to map the marine life, the seabed and the water column in some of the world's most demanding environments.

We will be maintaining and developing next-generation software products and therefore have a unique opportunity for you who are passionate about taking leadership in delivering these together with the rest of our team.

With us, you will drive development of products from scratch, everything from initial sketches to the finished product, launched in the market. You will then further develop the solutions and nurture them throughout their entire life cycle. We collaborate closely with customers who are eager to try out new ideas and provide valuable feedback. Furthermore, you will work closely with product owners, project managers, system- and software architects and developers, where you will take the lead in the Echosounder team's overall software deliveries.

With us you don't just get to be part of a team that puts together software - you will also get to see how the user experiences it at sea. We have our own test vessels in Horten where we take our software products for live testing:

  • Simrad Echo: Kongsberg Discovery's largest test vessel loaded with underwater sensors with the possibility of autonomous underwater vehicles.
  • Sølvkrona: Our test catamaran to test our product in a slimmed down setup

We believe you will thrive with us:

  • Because it is academically demanding with knowledgeable and easy-going colleagues
  • Because you are always learning something new
  • Because our technology is beneficial - for researchers, for society and for the planet

Would you like to join us below the surface? Here's what we're looking for:
